A Legacy in Tsukiji's History.
In the era of Taisho Romanticism, amid the bustling streets of Nihonbashi Muromachi in Tokyo, the story of Katsuobushi Matsumura began. After mastering his craft in Tosa, our founder, Ryotaro Matsumura, opened the shop that would become our legacy.
Following the Great Kanto Earthquake, we proudly established our presence in the Tsukiji Outer Market, where we have preserved our traditions for nearly a century.
Since our founding, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to ""freshly shaved,"" ""the finest ingredients,"" and ""exceptional dashi."" Every day, we deliver the highest-quality shaved bonito flakes, ensuring they are in their optimal state when they reach your table.
